Choosing the right daycare in Birkdale

John Downey / 0 Comments / Blog /

Parents should look for a daycare that balances learning and play. The Birkdale daycare focuses on creating a safe and engaging space for children.

The importance of daycare

•      Daycare helps children learn important social skills. They interact with their peers and learn to share and play together.

•      Children develop independence in a structured yet flexible environment.

•      They explored their interests through play-based learning.

•      It provides parents time for work, errands, and rest. They know their child is cared for by trained staff.

Why select Birkdale Daycare?

Birkdale Daycare has a flexible program. It offers full-day or part-day care to fit your schedule. There are age-specific rooms. For example, infants have a separate area, and preschoolers have a separate area with tailored activities. The center offers Government subsidies to reduce costs for eligible families.

Look for a daycare with outdoor natural playgrounds with mud, gardens, forts, and spaces. These areas allow children to connect with nature for indoor activities. Check out toys for sensory play. Interactive ports and technology tools spark curiosity in children.

Find teachers who focus on adapting to each child’s needs. Look for low staff-to-child ratios to ensure individual attention.

Consider centers that connect families together. Look for a multicultural environment that celebrates diverse backgrounds.

The average cost is around $120.00 per day. It is lower than the nearby regions’ government programs; the CCS and the Queensland Kindergarten funding help reduce expenses.

Tips for choosing the right center

•      Look for a center that is licensed and accredited. Verify whether it is accredited by the state to ensure it meets the safety standards.

•      Consider staff qualifications. Assess the qualifications and experience of teachers. Consider their training and ongoing professional developmental opportunities.

•      Check the ratio of caregivers to children. It ensures adequate supervision and attention for each child.

•      Consider the daycare curriculum and how it aligns with your child’s age point and age-appropriate activities. Look for a balanced approach to learning and play.

•      Observe the cleanliness, and consider things like toys and annotations. Inquire about their sick child’s policy to prevent the spread of germs.

•      Assess how well the center communicates with parents and whether they give regular updates on your child’s progress. Parents might also want to speak to the teacher regarding the concerns of the children.

•      Consider the proximity to your work or home. You need to ensure that the childcare is in a safe neighborhood.

•      Visit the childcare in person. Observe how the staff interacts with children. Look at the overall atmosphere. The space should feel stimulating and safe.

•      Ask questions about the center’s policies on discipline, meal time, routines, outdoor play, and nap schedules. If there are any special needs accommodations, communicate it with the teacher.

•      Consider your child’s individual personality and learning style when choosing a daycare. Find one that best suits their needs.

Although childcare is not a replacement for good parenting, however, it does complement your parenting if you choose it wisely.

Parents should be concerned about their children having the best possible care. They can be skeptical about giving others some authority in their lives.

However, there are quality daycare options in Birkdale available for your kids to get excellent care outside of their home.

What Kind of Kindergarten Activities In Wodonga Encourage the Love for Learning?

John Downey / 0 Comments / News /

Did you know that kindergarten is among the most essential stages in your child’s educational life? Your child is introduced to formal learning at this stage, making it crucial. At this stage, you can either instill the love for learning or make a child hate learning. This is why you must be very careful, especially when you are an educator or a parent. It is always essential for you to provide the child with all the support they need so that they can adopt the love for learning at an early age. Fortunately, there are so many activities that you can engage the child in that will make them love learning. In this article, we will discuss the many activities in kindergarten that can encourage the love for learning.

Kindergarten Activities in Wodonga Encourage the Love for Learning

Parents who are going through Wodonga’s kindergarten options want to know what their kids will be doing in daycare. The following are kindergarten activities should engage kids in so that they can encourage the love for learning;

  • Hands-on activities

When kids are young, they learn best when they feel, manipulate or touch objects.  This way, the hands-on activities encourage the children to use their senses during learning; this way, they better understand and retain what they learn.  Therefore, educators in the kindergartens in Wodonga should encourage kids to participate in hands-on activities like sorting objects, using water or sand to play and building structures using blocks.  Through these activities, kids have fun when learning and are encouraged to participate in the lesson, which helps them develop a love for learning.

  • Play-based learning

Another type of kindergarten activity that encourages love for learning among kindergarteners is play-based learning.  This way, kids get the chance to learn and are encouraged to be innovative. Through play-based learning, kids explore ideas and are encouraged to think imaginatively.  Since play-based play-based learning is fun, when incorporated into the kindergarten program, kids will always be eager to learn, making them love learning.

  • Reading and telling stories

Reading books and telling stories is also an everyday activity in kindergarten, and it is known to foster a love for learning.  When you tell kids a story, they always listen carefully and capture all the story’s events. They also try to imagine what is happening in the story, which enhances their creativity. Also, by reading books, kids learn new ideas as they acquire language skills.  Thus, with time, these kids will love reading and storytelling and will ensure that they practice more to expand their vocabulary.

  • Outdoor activities

While most of the learning takes place in the classroom, it is also essential for kindergarten kids to participate in some outdoor activities.  By engaging kids in outdoor activities, they acquire observation skills, explore the natural environment, and discover new things. When kids know that they always have the time to participate in outdoor learning, they will always love learning, unlike when they spend the whole day fixed in their classroom.

  • Movement and music

Music and movements like dancing encourage the cognitive and physical development of children.  However, it also makes learning enjoyable and helps kids to memorise and remember what they learn in class.  Therefore, you should consider including music and movement in your kindergarten learning since it makes kids enjoy and love learning.

As a kindergarten educator in Wodonga, you have to make sure you positively impact the kids in your class by making them love learning. Fortunately, when you include the above activities in your lessons, you will give kids a passion for learning from an early stage.

Good Reasons to Place Your Child in Kindergarten in Burpengary

John Downey / 0 Comments / News /

Leaving your home for a school environment can be stressful, but it can also be a time to develop your child’s confidence and learn new skills. If you are considering putting your child in kindergarten, there are some things to consider. These tips can help make the transition to school a bit easier.

First of all, you should check with your child’s preschool teacher to make sure that you have all the information you need. You might want to discuss your child’s goals and ask your teacher for some tips to help your child be ready for school. If you are not comfortable contacting your child’s teacher directly, then talk to the principal. They can help you with any problems that your child might have.

Important Social Skills Are Developed

Another good reason to put your child in kindergarten is that it teaches him or her important social skills. Your child will learn how to interact with others and how to follow directions. This is especially important for kindergarten students, as they will be expected to follow directions throughout the school day.

Special Cognitive Skills Are Developed

Besides developing social skills, kindergarten also teaches your child some important cognitive skills. For example, your child will learn how to count, write the alphabet, and recognize basic shapes and numbers. Children learn through their senses, and kindergarten teachers use creative play to teach lessons. Some of these skills include learning how to count, write the alphabet, and mastering the art of problem solving. If your child is not ready for this, you might want to consider enrolling him or her in a daycare or preschool program. These programs provide a supervised environment for your child, which is important.

Communicate With Your Child

It is a good idea to talk to your child about his or her feelings before starting kindergarten. Children are often nervous about starting school, and you can help by explaining that kindergarten is a time to learn new things. If your child seems to be feeling apprehensive, you can help him or her by making sure that you spend time with him or her, letting your child know that you are there for him or her.

You should also make sure to get your child to practice a good morning routine. When you pick up your child from daycare or preschool, you can ask him or her about what happened during the day. You can also show your child that it is ok to ask for help.

You may need to move your child’s bedtime routine earlier before school starts. This is especially important for kindergarten students who need to be up earlier than normal to make it to the school bus.

Develops Emotional Skills

Another good reason to enrol in a Burpengary kindergarten is that it helps your child develop emotional skills. Children will begin working their emotions as they learn to share, take turns, and experience fun times as well as challenging times that are appropriate for their age. In addition, your child will have opportunities to interact with other kids and to channel his or her creativity.

If you’re unsure about whether or not your child is ready for kindergarten, talk to your child’s preschool teacher or talk to your child’s pediatrician. There are a number of programs that help children get ready for kindergarten and feel confident in school.

The Benefits of Early Learning

John Downey / 0 Comments / News /

Often parents who have someone looking after their child or have a large family with grandparents and others to care for their children wonder why there is a need for early learning. However, it is early learning that first helps your child develop brain function and learn to think for themselves. Early education is also when children make their first best friends and learn to be independent.

Placing your child in a school at an early age means that when their critical learning years come, they will learn better and quicker than others. They won’t have to go through that frightening time of suddenly being placed in a kindergarten because they might already have friends in the class and are used to a learning environment.

Benefit One: Developing Skills

Early learning for a child is when their brains begin developing, and they begin to think for themselves. It is a time when they can start choosing what they enjoy while playing and let their teacher know what they might be afraid of or learn how to do something never thought of trying.

Children begin to develop vocabulary, and they first learn how to interact with educators and others around them. Early learning helps to make the child an individual in their own right, separate from their parents. Research has shown that children who have participated in early learning programs have better social, cognitive, and emotional skills to help them further learn. It is a great revelation for a child to let others know what they like and what they do not like.

Benefit Two: Social, Learning Environment

When early learning begins, children find that they are in an environment with teachers and other children, They begin to learn how to get along with everyone and get to know who is in authority. Children from the ages of three to five adapt quickly and can make friends with other children their age.

It is when they first learn to share toys, play games, and get along with the other children. Some even find lifelong friends who will follow them to other learning institutions as time progresses. It makes school a fun learning environment when you have your best friend beside you and go through all the trials and tribulations along with you. Early learning is also when children first develop their social skills and learn proper social behaviour and how to react to other children.

Benefit Three: Independence

Narre Warren early learning also gives the child an opportunity for independence and being a child in younger years, and the skilled educational staff is ready to help them. They get more confident as time goes by and are not afraid of being away from their family, They discover their own identity and who they are, and it can become fun to see who interacts best with them. It is time they learn how to react to teachers and know they can help them. They begin to choose their role models, compare their parents with their teachers, and see that they can depend on both.

It is also a time of learning new routines outside their homes. They begin to look forward to each day and know what to expect when they get to the learning centre. They might already have made a friend or two and have chosen which teacher they favour. Suddenly it is a new revelation to young children that they can decide what they enjoy the most and let their teachers know if they need any help with learning anything new.

Multiple Advantages of Kindy

John Downey / 0 Comments / News /

Sending children to Kindy has become extremely popular with parents across the world. World statistics show that a lot of children aged between 4 and 5 years old are enrolled in various Kindy schools.

Yet, the positive numbers also see negative numbers in children that don’t attend kindergarten. Kindergarten is not a compulsory early childhood learning program and it’s up to parents if they find it necessary to let their children attend kindergarten.

However, children that are given a chance to attend kindergarten start to love it. Here’s why:

  • They get an opportunity to become a part of a group of peers while having fun learning new things
  • They get a chance to meet and interact with other adults and kids their age, or younger, or older
  • They get a chance to form special friendships and socialise with new people
  • They get a chance to have fun and play
  • They get a chance to learn a wide variety of skills from counting, reading, and more

Succeeding later in formal education becomes possible with the solid social and academic foundation provided by kindergarten. Here’s how:

Provides a chance for child growth development

Kindergarten is often the first structured setting experience of most children. Being exposed to new groups of children and other adults provide an opportunity for children to follow instructions, to share, and start the process of learning that is sure to happen during the formal years of schooling.

A smoother transition to formal elementary education

The formal academic setting of kindergarten offers the best way for a successful launch toward formal elementary education. Often, parents worry that kindergarten cuts into playtime to make a child quickly grow up.

The structured learning environment of kindergarten is often a confusing issue for parents that listen to varied bits of advice and opinions from well-meaning family and friends.

Fortunately, high-quality kindergarten understands this important issue. This means that organisation of activities, space, and time set up by high-quality kindergarten should be in sync with the physical, social, cognitive, and emotional abilities of children under their care.

Promotes children’s emotional and social development

Teachers of high-quality kindergarten make sure that every child feels secure and cared for. They understand that trust has to be nurtured with their charges before they could implement learning activities.

The consistency of care between a child’s school and home makes children feel secure and happy. To this end, high-quality kindergarten schools make it a point to consult parents through regular meetings and conferences. The regular meetings between teachers and parents enable teachers and staff of kindergarten schools to respect and understand the values and goals of parents when it comes to the education of their children.

A formal and structured learning environment

Kindergarten is a notch higher than the pre-school learning environment. However, while the educational setting of kindergarten is more formal and structured than pre-school, it is organised to nurture positive social interactions between children and their teachers as they learn together.

Choosing the right kindergarten school for your child depends on your values and goals. However, making the choice right means opting for high-quality kindergarten schools ensures that your child will be able to develop academically and socially while feeling safe, secure, and happy. What is ISO 14001 certification?

John Downey / 0 Comments / News /

ISO 14001 certification in ISO 1400 standards was made in 1996 not only to guide but also to safeguard environment management. Any firm or company ought to adhere to these set environmental standards if the world is to fully curb the harsh impact of businesses on their immediate surroundings. So as many people ask, what does the ISO 14001 certification seek to achieve?

  • The first objective of this certification is to offer a functional framework that firms can use in devising their own environment conservation techniques.
  • Represents the prize and the much-desired recognition that businesses seek for all the steps taken in the proper management of their immediate and general environment.

Principles of ISO 1400 certification

From when it was established, this certificate has mostly been sought after by successful and well-established business corporations. Entrepreneurial growth has, however, enabled small businesses and start-ups to apply for this prestigious certificate. The application for this form of certification is not mandatory for business as everyone is required to get their certificate at will. The strategy is based on a few principles that govern it, making it possible to adopt different strategies towards proper environmental management. These few principles are as follows:

  1. Planning
  2. Doing
  3. Studying
  4. Act

Steps involved in getting ISO 14001 certification

Businesses will today ask how they can apply for ISO 14001 certification. Proper planning and devotion are key; however, a procedure is discussed below on how you can boost your preparedness level before submitting your official certification. Businesses need to prepare for the process, adequately removing any form of rush or shortcuts. There are a few procedures one must follow when applying for ISO 1400 certificate, and below are some of them:

Step 1: Learning

Here a bit of research is required to make you conversant with whatever the certification is really about. Do not venture blindly into what you have limited knowledge. Since your time, finances, and reputation may be on the line, why not find out all you can about this topic?

Step 2: Environmental Reviews and analysis

Analyse your existing Environmental Management System (E.M.S.) and determine what needs to be omitted or added to the plan. For this, you may need an experienced consultant to do the gap analysis for your firm.

Step 3: Planning

Strategise your obligations in the organisation specifying timelines and the present resources to be planned for. Every major project’s success is dependent on the planning level done by the organisation before its execution.

Step 4: Staff training

Since these changes affect those in your organisation, staff training is more than relevant at this stage. Take them through whatever is needed and help them learn to adhere to the set rules and regulations.

Step 5: Documentation, Design strategies, and initiate and better your E.M.S.

Now that everything is ready, have your consultant help you with the preparation of all the paperwork involved in the course. Once your new strategies align with your company’s way of doing things, you are ready to get an audit done after some time.

Step 6: Step 7: Do auditing on your performance

To test its authenticity, the system has to be audited after some time to ascertain your general score and performance.

Step 8: Go for your registration.

The results of the audit process are the ones to use for your application process. The registration can now be official, and after some time, the consent is given based on how prepared the organisation really was.

Essential Professional Art Supplies for the Serious Hobbyist

John Downey / 0 Comments / News /

A notebook and pencil are usually the essential art supplies serious hobbyists start with. Over time, professional art supplies are needed to match the acquired skill and art knowledge.

The best tools to be on hand for every budding or serious artist are professional art supplies.

Long-lasting and quality art supplies are the essential tools to have when you are serious about your artwork. Investing in good quality professional art supplies provides the next level to your sculpting, painting, and other artwork expressions.

Investing in high-quality pencils

A drawing pencil is the most essential and basic art material for any artist. However, not any pencil will do. The pencils to pick out are the best ones that highlight your particular style of drawing.

Trying out several types and brands of pencils is highly recommended. Doing it this way eventually gets you the right pencil for colouring-in or drawing.

The pretty packages contain drawing pencil sets can be pretty awesome. The varied numbers showing on the pencils tell you the ones to go for. For instance, 6B sets are softer graphite pencils while 9H sets are the harder graphite types.

A longer sharp tip and lighter marks are produced by the harder graphite pencils. On the other hand, constant sharpening and darker marks are provided by the softer graphite pencils.

Investing in both sets of pencils enables an artist to create diverse art variations and styles. However, investing in single pencils is the usual route taken by many artists. Not only does it cut costs, but they also do not feel the need to invest in full sets either.

A great sketchbook

A good sketchbook provides the best medium for drawings or sketches. It is a must-have for all artists to hone their skills.

Canvas

Canvas is available either rolled-up or stretched using materials such as cotton or linen. The lighter weight and affordable price tag are with the rolled-up canvas. However, self-stretching or framing the canvas can be hard work.

The choice of a drawing surface

Any surface will not work well for artworks and sketches. The quality of the surface also matters. The finished artwork is significantly impacted by the choice of the drawing surface.

  • The paper weight should directly relate to the thickness of the paper used.
  • Smoother-textured surfaces provide smoother lines while broken lines are with the heavier textures.

Kinds of papers:

  • Bristol Paper is a heavy and smooth type of paper. They are great to use in depth-line work using ink or smooth gradations.
  • Drawing paper especially the medium tooth variety is the best to use with graphite pencils, coloured pencils, chalks, and pens.
  • Charcoal paper is semi-transparent and lightweight. They are great to use not only for charcoal drawings but also with coloured pencils.

Choice of erasers

Erasers are cleaning tools that artists should never have without. Some of the options include:

  • Plastic erasers can erase almost any mistakes. This is by far, considered the sturdiest eraser of all.
  • A rubber eraser is a conventional type used for erasing graphite mistakes.
  • Gum eraser is the best choice for removing marks and inks from tearing to delicate surfaces.
  • Kneaded eraser does not require friction to remove mistakes from all sorts of surfaces.

There’s no end in sight when it comes to professional art supplies for artists. Some supplies are essential while some are great additions.

Special education: The four things to know in private schools

John Downey / 0 Comments / News /

Does your child attend a private school or you have one in mind you would like to send him to? If that’s the case, then you must know that some schools are better prepared in helping children who may have learning challenges.

Another thing you should bear in mind is the impact of special education law on private schools. If your child happens to qualify for special education, coupled with you sending him to a private school, there is a probability that the public school district covers for some of the special education services.

In private schools that offer special education, there are certain things you must know and verify before deciding to enrol your child. Here are some of the essential things to know:

Evaluations for Special Education Services

For students who attend private schools, there are laws in place which have made it mandatory that public school districts should make their findings/investigations on students who may have learning disorders. Meaning, the child’s teacher can decide to request an evaluation, which the public school will cover if that teacher perceives the child may have a learning disorder.

This is why it is often recommended to speak to your child’s teacher before sending an evaluation to the district. The decision is then made whether to undergo an assessment of your child or not as the cost will be the responsibility of the public school district in your location.

Equitable services

So your child has now been qualified for special education, you are at liberty to transfer to any nearby public school of your choice, provided he will receive all special education services needed. Or, if you continue in a private school, you can be entitled to certain privileges referred to as “equitable services.” These are services covered by the public funds for students with learning disorders who enrol in a private school. However, these funds could be limited for students who enrol in a private school than a public one.

Adaptations

Private schools are usually known for providing specific support structures such as more time and use of technology. They may also offer the opportunity of your child getting tutored by an assigned private teacher, even during school hours, at your own expense.

Still, there is a possibility that a private school in Brisbane may not have the adequate resources to meet your child’s needs and hence may advise you to transfer him to a public school that is more equipped/sophisticated.

Service Plan

By deciding to send your ward or children to a private school, the school, as well as the district, can create a “service plan” for you.

A service plan is developed for students in private schools receiving special education services that describe the special education and related services the private school district will receive from the school district. This plan could be likened to the IEP (Individualised Education Program), yet a little less in-depth like the IEP.

To close, one final thing you must note is that each child is unique. And hence you cannot afford to treat child A like you would child B, even if facing similar learning disorders. So, parents should work with private schools to know the best option for their child. Be sure to conduct your research to know which option is best for you and your children.

John Downey / 0 Comments / News /

Toowoomba is one of the major towns in Queensland in Australia that is known for its acumen in commerce, great education, and the development of industries. This should give you a glimpse of how busy the city is while everyone is going about their daily work to make the end meet.

Mothers and young millennial parents in the city are not spared either. They have to report to work. This is where the need to have a reliable daycare in Toowoomba becomes a very vital thing for most mothers.

Getting an excellent daycare in Toowoomba is not a walk in the park. It requires you to get references and carry your private investigation before settling for one daycare that will be looking after your child or children while in office.

In such a large city in Queensland, you should know that there are also counterfeit daycares that aim at stealing your child. In this article, we are going to take you through the red flags that the daycare you are considering to take your child is a no-go zone. So just keep reading.

Red Flags that it is a Bad Daycare

Not Registered

If you happen to visit any Toowoomba day care centres and ask for their registration and they take you around without showing you their registration number, just know that they are counterfeits. Instead of regrets after your child goes missing, you should just keep off. If they are not registered, it means the municipal council of Toowoomba does not know their existence. That means they can do anything like stealing your child without being traced.

No license

Where is their license that they are supposed to be operating a daycare? Toowoomba city authority requires that every person owns any kind of business, including daycares, to have a license. If they cannot show you a written license with the original logo of the municipality, then they are not genuine. Be careful of other crafty daycare operators that forge documents and licenses to operate.

Not static

This means that they don’t have a specific location. One day you find them in this building, the next day in another building. This could just be a game to trick your mind before they disappear into thin air with your child. Toowoomba is a large city and getting a trace of where a certain daycare disappearance could be a very hard thing.

Unfriendly nannies

If they are treating you badly as the parent, how will they treat your little angel? Such caretakers will even beat up your child when you are away. Whenever you leave your child in a daycare, and in the evening, the child seems calm, and when he or she sees you run to you and cry, it means there is mistreatment somewhere. A good daycare in Toowoomba should have friendly nannies.

Unqualified caregivers

How will a person who has never changed a diaper in a baby know how to do it? Of course, they cannot. That should tell you that your child will remain wet for prolonged hours before being changed. And that can consequently affect their health. A good daycare must have experienced and qualified nannies.

Poor communication

Now, sometimes during the day, you may need to talk to your child, but you find that their calls are not clear or are not going through. Well, it can happen once, but if it is a daily occurrence, then you need to change your child immediately. You should speak to your child any time in a good daycare.

Reasons Why our Child Should Attend An Early Learning Center

John Downey / 0 Comments / Music, News /

Dear busy parents! There are so many new events coming up and so many new plans taking off right now. However, make sure to include one new plan which is sending your child to an early learning center. Why? Because this is going to expose your child to structured learning layout where trained teachers and other children will accompany him or her.
Here are a few benefits which will convince you send your child to a day care centre:

Healthy Social And Emotional Development

A good early learning centre perth will have a positive, caring and family oriented environment where children will learn through well-thought learning experience. It can be the best foundation which can enhance the learning of your children. Since the staff is professional, your child will be comfortable and will feel secure to express himself in front of an outsider. More importantly, your child will make some new emotional connections with teachers and students. This can help them enhance their communication skills.

Language

It is pretty basic but children have a hard time adapting to language. Your child is in the learning phase and this is the best time to teach them new ideas. Making them go to a learning centre will help them learn new words which will grow from hundred to thousand words. It is important to learn new words because they will then enter the phase where they will have to say complex sentences. questions and will soon have conversations. They need the right vocabulary. One of the best things you can do is check the curriculum of the school. Talk to a teacher or go through the learning center handbook.

Introduce Your Child To Responsibility

Your child in a learning center will be introduced to many new people. This will help them realize their worth and the worth of others. It will be a rush of new emotions which will trigger your child to set values for others. They will be responsible enough to help themselves and others. More so, the daily activities like feeding themselves, setting a table and learning new things will encourage them to develop new skills. They will feel more confident every time they complete a task.

Sets Ground For Further Learning

One of the best things about early learning centers is that they just don’t babysit your child, they make your child experience the learning tools. More so, you will also learn what your child is actually interested in, for example, does he like math or language or singing. In this way you will be able to help your child with pursuing a career in future by concentrating on something they enjoy. Child care centre learning experiences are tailored in most cases to each child’s individual needs.
Now that you are convinced, go and do your research. Look for a one which is near your home since commuting for you and your child is going to be hectic. However, do not forget to check the reputation of the learning centre.

Ridiculous Tips on Writing Songs That Actually Work

John Downey / 0 Comments / Music, News /

Searching Google for “song writing tips” will produce around 2 million results in 0.42 seconds. They are a bunch of suggestions.

And you know what? This is because writing songs is a personal process.

These suggestions are special ones. Those that put you and your ideas in the foreground. Those that give you some time to concentrate, experiment and make your songs work.

It is about immersing yourself in finding that gold cast in the form of songs.

They could make people close to you ask you if you’re ok. They cause strange behavior.

But they work. Because they put you and your ideas first. “And you’re in pole position …” Here are 10 ridiculous exercises on how to write songs to put your tracks on the right track.

1. Make 5 radio stations play at the same time

You may want to do this when no one else is at home. Or at least keep the volume low. Surely your friends will worry that everything is ok.

Well it really works! It is known that Tom Waits uses this technique during his songwriting process .

Good old Tom turns on a couple of radios and then pays attention to interesting overlays.

You will find interesting progressions and melodies. It’s like you’re sampling with the ear.

T t is pure storm to find inspiration. Since it worked for Tom Waits, it’s definitely worth a try. So turn on all the radios, roll the dice and pay attention to the interesting overlaps.

2. Look out your window for a long, long time

The small room in which I make music has a small window. The view is quite limited: only a small blue rectangle with a cloud, a bird or a passing plane.

Yet I think I learned more about my process from that little blue rectangle than any other guide, tutorial or manual can teach me. It allows me to think clearly.

Only something silent to be able to fix. Like a tropical aquarium , or a beautiful work of art .

In the present day we must actually make an extra effort to stay away from the hyper-fast distractions that are constantly around us (computers, mobile phones, etc.) to be able to find some precious time in silence.

Once obtained, you will be able to enter the best writing mode that exists.

Do you think Brian Wilson wrote “Good Vibrations” while replying to an email, calling an Uber, checking his plays on SoundCloud, or tweeting the weather?

I really know not.

3. Don’t talk for a whole day. Just listen

Make a temporary vow of silence. Your writing will thank you.

A whole day could be a little too much. On the other hand, you MUST talk in order to put down that vocal line of pure genius.

But it is no secret that silence is a good thing for you .

And during all that time in silence all those deep memories and feelings will have a clear path in your mind. You know, all those thoughts that make great songs.

So take a break from chatting and be quiet for a while. Leave the task of talking to your brain, to look for all the inspiration you need.

4. Set yourself an absurd time limit

Guess what’? Rihanna’s “Diamonds” was written by Sia in 14 minutes . He put the beat up and the words came out naturally. It was platinum 5 times only in the United States.

Time is a balance that is difficult to balance. Too much time and you will end up changing your mind every three seconds. Too little and you will never have anything finalized.

5 suggestions for making the perfect music video clip

John Downey / 0 Comments / Music, News /

I Vetusta Morla, one of the most successful bands in Spain, worked with Enrique Torralbo to create something great, a distinctive and experimental mix of video and text. “Cuarteles de Invierno”, considered the best video clip of 2015 in Spain, was also one of the first interactive video clips. This new format has been called “magasingle”, a completely new imaginary that unites magazines and individuals in a unique and constant experience for consumption on the phone, tablet and PC. The idea was to adapt the audiovisual content to practical interaction, shown on the web in sites like YouTube, via television or on a mobile device.

This gave rise to a completely new generation of video clips for songs, Llévame muy lejos by Amaral, Kitsuné, by Toundra; or Rufus T. Firefly’s new Pompeya audiovisual experiment, to name a few.

We asked Enrique Torralbo to share some suggestions with iMusician for directors and bands who plan to start their own journey in the production of music videos. Yes, creative direction can be a fantastic experience – but only if you follow these 12 suggestions.

1. The video is always at the service of the song – not vice versa
The video clip is a promotional tool and should serve the song or increase its potential in some way. The song should inspire the narration of the music video, not vice versa. The objective of the video is to support the song, bringing it to life through visualization,

2. Take advantage of your creativity
:
The world of video clips is based on an experience that combines techniques from both the audio and video sectors. This mix guarantees greater freedom and creativity. Keep the first tip in mind as you push the creative boundaries of the video to the limit.

3. Be original
But since they have already done everything possible, stay true to your ideas. Shape your originality and create your own style of shooting.

CREATE YOUR ACCOUNT FOR FREE
4. Stay away from fads
Although it may cost you more to find projects or ideas, your ideas will be more solid and work better in the long run. Although it is fashionable to use a drone camera, slow motion and colored powder effects, if these elements do not fit your idea, do not include them. Stay true to your overall style and your ideas. Fashionable or not, if something goes wrong it just doesn’t work.

5. Not everything is suitable for a video clip
This opinion of mine will go against that of many, but, hey, to be a successful music director, you have to go against the common opinion. Although the medium gives space to freedom and creativity, there are still limits. If you end up massing a bunch of techniques that don’t fit together, then the result you’ll get is – forgive French – a shitty video. Deal with reality and use only what makes sense to use.
